Athletics

Award-winning seasons are not the exception at Georgian Court University. Whatever your sport, you can enjoy it here.

A member of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Georgian Court University sponsors six NCAA Division II intercollegiate women's sports. The fall sports season begins with volleyball, soccer, tennis and cross-country; basketball then occupies the winter months, and the year winds down with softball in the spring.

In its four years since becoming an NCAA Division II member, Georgian Court has earned many athletic honors. The Lions have gained CACC Championships in soccer and softball, and the cross-country team added its fourth CACC Championship in the last five years in 2004. Individually, GCU student-athletes have claimed numerous conference, regional, and national all-star selections and athlete-of-the-week honors.

Our teams enjoy the benefits of playing in the campus' historical Casino building and its sprawling adjacent fields, all centrally located on GCU's gated campus. Our teams also travel within the region and beyond to play neighboring competition from all over the United States. In 2004, our soccer team played in Boca Raton, Florida and our softball team stopped in Tucson, Arizona for spring training.

Student-athletes are also proven leaders in the classroom and community, as GCU athletes have earned a collective 3.20 GPA and are active within the GCU community. The Student Athlete Advisory Committee is a collection of athletes who serve as a voice for the campus both internally and nationally, one of the many examples of how our student athletes get the most out of their GCU experience.
