Residence Hall Computers

All three dorms are wired for network access. Students with their own computers may connect to the network and utilize the Internet. Each residence hall also contains a small computer lab that is available 24 hours a day.
Use of the college network to connect to the Internet is a free service provided to resident students. All rooms have connection to the college network via the orange RJ45 jack in the wall box. All residents who are planning to take advantage of this service are required to fill out a Resident's Network Connection Request Form
Hardware and Software requirements to use the GCU Network:
  • Pentium-class PC running Windows 7 or XP or Macintosh running OS 10.4 or newer
  • A functioning Ethernet network interface card (NIC) or wireless card installed in the PC or MAC
  • Internet Explorer (version 7) or Mozilla Firefox
Note: If more than one computer is being connected in the same room, a hub will be loaned to the student for the duration of the academic year. Failure to return the hub will result in a charge being placed on the student's financial record.
