Welcome to Georgian Court University Information Technology Services! Below you will find general information for logging into our Technology Resources as well as further information for finding help.

Username & Password for the GCU Network, GCU Email and Blackboard Access

Beginning August 1st 2007, logon ID's for students will have the following changes:

All new students enrolled for Fall 2007:

(Example shown is as John Doe, SSN: 123-45-6789, Student ID: 00000987654)

User Name: First Initial of First and Last Name, last five digits of Student ID (jd87654)

Password: First Initial of First and Last Name, pound sign (#), middle two digits of SSN (jd#45)

(Will be prompted to change at first sign on to GCU workstation)

Email Account: Same as user name (jd87654@georgian.edu)

All students enrolled prior to Fall Semester 2007:

(Example shown is as John Doe, SSN: 123-45-6789, Student ID: 00000987654)

Username: First four digits of last name, last four of SSN (doe_6789)

Password: First Initial of First and Last Name, pound sign (#), middle two digits of SSN (jd#45)

(Will be prompted to change at first sign on to GCU workstation)

Email Account: No changes from original account creation (doe_6789@georgian.edu)

GCU E-Mail & Forums

Georgian Court University uses Microsoft Exchange as their primary e-mail system. Campus Events and updates are all posted on the GCU Community News forum located within the Public Folders area.

GCU E-Mail

From the GCU Homepage, click on the Mail/Web Services button then click Student Mail. You will be prompted for your Username and Password.
Note: You need to use Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher in order for email to work properly.

Accessing Discussion Forums

From the GCU Homepage, click on the Mail/Web Services button then click Student Mail. You will be prompted for your Username and Password. Once logged in, click on the Public Folders button on the menu located on the bottom left, then click on GCU Community News to view the current posts.

Saving to your G Drive (Network Account):
As a GCU student, you have disk space available to you on the network. When saving documents or files on campus, the default location (my documents) will save to your to the G drive. This drive is not accessible off campus.

Blackboard

Georgian Court University utilizes the Blackboard online learning environment to extend and enhance classroom learning. It provides an online teaching and learning environment that brings together content management, communication, collaboration, and assessment tools. Blackboard courses can be accessed from any location where you have access to the web. You can log into Blackboard by clicking on the Mail/Web Service button on the GCU Homepage, then Blackboard. You also access Blackboard directly via the URL http://georgian.blackboard.com. Your Username and password are as described above.
