The mission of student development is to empower students to become fully engaged in the college experience by providing transformative educational experiences for students that enhance student learning and development. Furthermore, the student development staff act as student advocates on issues, concerns, and challenges related to students. We contribute to the University’s mission by:
- Developing programs and providing services that reinforce the Mercy core values and offer students opportunities for personal growth, self appraisal, and leadership development to be successful in all aspect of their lives.
- Encouraging and challenging students to assume leadership roles where they exercise integrity, establish meaningful relationships, and expand their problem solving, critical thinking, and reflective skills for personal and professional growth.
- Educating students to become global citizens who will seek to use their voices, talents, and abilities to advocate, lead, and serve both domestically and abroad.
