Welcome from the President

Welcome to Georgian Court University's home on the Web. These are exciting times at the university and we want you to be a part of it.
Our successful fundraising effort, The Campaign for Georgian Court, is helping us bring the university to a new level of distinction. Increased scholarships and endowments are enabling more students than ever to attend GCU. Innovative academic programming is preparing our students to thrive in an ever-changing, global society. Improvements to facilities and infrastructure are ensuring that GCU and its students keep pace in a technology-driven world. At the heart of this progress is a new Wellness Center, which opened at the beginning of the Fall 2008 semester. As an eco-friendly complex, the Wellness Center serves as a hub for recreational activities, sporting events, and spiritual reflection.
I invite you to explore our Web site and get to know this vibrant learning community. A special concern for women and a commitment to the Mercy Core Values of respect, integrity, justice, compassion, and service are common threads that distinguish GCU from other universities.
Founded on the hopes and dreams of the Sister of Mercy in 1908, Georgian Court University is now a premiere Catholic university. The Women's College offers a comprehensive liberal arts education taught by outstanding faculty; the coeducational University College offers distinguished master's degree programs and challenging undergraduate programs; and off-site locations, such as GCU at Woodbridge and GCU at Cumberland County College, offer convenient pathways to graduate and undergraduate degrees and certificates.
Georgian Court alums continually make the Sisters of Mercy and their alma mater proud for their service in the community and their accomplishments in many walks of life. I look forward with pride to the day Georgian Court may welcome you as a member of its alumni. I also encourage you to visit us at our beautiful main campus in Lakewood, by the popular Jersey shore.
