Welcome from the President
Welcome to Georgian Court University's home on the Web. These are exciting times at the university, and we want you to be a part of it.
Here at GCU, innovative academic programming is preparing our students to thrive in an ever-changing, global society. Improvements to facilities and infrastructure are ensuring that GCU and its students keep pace in a technology-driven world. One shining example of our commitment to keeping pace with student needs and expectations is our LEED-gold winning Wellness Center, an eco-friendly complex which serves as a hub for recreational activities, sporting events, and spiritual reflection.
I invite you to get to know our vibrant learning community and learn more about our commitment to the Mercy core values of respect, integrity, justice, compassion, and service--common threads that distinguish GCU from other universities.
Read more about our new vision for the future of Georgian Court University in the Strategic Plan 2012-2017 (pdf), which outlines four primary initiatives and the steps we will be taking to achieve them during the next few years. Through commitment, determination, and faith, the university is well on its way to taking its rightful place as a leading institution of Catholic education.
Founded on the hopes and dreams of the Sisters of Mercy in 1908, Georgian Court University is now a premiere Catholic university for both women and men. We offer a comprehensive liberal arts education taught by faculty who deliver outstanding master's degree programs and challenging undergraduate programs. Beyond our historic campus in Lakewood, we offer an increasing number of courses online (including master's programs in Homeland Security and Holistic Health) and off-site at Communiversity in Wall.
Georgian Court alums continually make the Sisters of Mercy and their alma mater proud for their service in the community and their accomplishments in many walks of life. I look forward with pride to the day Georgian Court may welcome you to discover who we are and how our students and our graduates are changing the world.
