Nodding Ladies'-tresses Orchid
Orchidaceae. 35cm.

Green basal leaves are long and narrow and present most of the time.  White flowers are arranged in a double spiral on a spike, are horizontal or arch downward ("nod") somewhat, and appear in late summer or early autumn.  Found in groups in wet soils, such as bogs, meadows or the edges of lakes.  Photographed at edge of  Lake Carasaljo, Lakewood.
