GCU Chorale to Sing an Array of Holiday Christmas Classics
Lakewood, N.J., Dec. 6, 2011—On Saturday, December 17, the gifted Georgian Court University Chorale will present their annual Christmas concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Casino Auditorium on the Lakewood campus. Expect to enjoy an array of selections of all your favorite holiday carols!
The GCU Chorale is comprised of singers from the university as well as people from the surrounding townships. For the concert, they will present music from A Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten with harp accompaniment, as well as songs like “The Man with the Bag,” by Lee Ann Womack; “I Believe,” from The Polar Express; “A Swingin’ Christmas,” which is a medley of “Winter Wonderland,” “I'll be Home for Christmas,” and “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” arranged by Jay Althouse; and much, much more.
Karen Mulhall, chorale director and GCU lecturer in music, is excited to present GCU Chorale to the Lakewood campus as well as the surrounding communities, adding that a jazz ensemble will accompany several songs.
