GCU Celebrates Broadway and Hollywood with the Garden State Philharmonic

Founded in 1955, the Garden State Philharmonic Orchestra is a cultural resource for the Jersey Shore and the surrounding region, performing the best in symphonic repertoire in a variety of venues. Music lovers do not have to travel to the cities to enjoy live performances of fine symphonic music presented by a quality orchestra. This season marks the 10th anniversary of Maestro Anthony LaGruth as conductor and artistic director.
Conductor Anthony LaGruth has delighted audiences and critics alike with many exciting performances recognized for their innovative presentation of orchestral music. A proponent of American music, Maestro LaGruth is on the steering committee of the American Symphony Orchestra League’s commissioning project, Ford Made in America. This program offers smaller orchestras throughout the country the opportunity to commission works by major American composers through grassroots consortiums. Noted by his colleagues for his rapport with audiences, Maestro LaGruth builds relationships with his listeners through many outreach programs and his very popular pre-concert discussions, Musically Speaking. Whether educating and entertaining students in a Music for Young People concert or chatting informally with audience members, Maestro LaGruth finds innovative ways to bridge the gap between new audiences and classical music.
Tickets are $20 for members of the general public and $15 for paid members of the McAuley Institute for Lifelong Learning or GCU students with ID. Reservations are required and can be made by contacting the GCU Office of Conferences and Special Events at firstname.lastname@example.org or 732.987.2263.
