Executive Women’s Group Honors GCU President Rosemary E. Jeffries

Lakewood, N.J., June 3, 2010—Georgian Court University President Rosemary E. Jeffries, RSM, Ph.D., was recently honored by Executive Women of New Jersey (EWNJ) at its “Salute to the Policy Makers” 2010 Awards Dinner on May 12 at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick, NJ. Brian Buckelew, immediate past chair of the GCU Board of Trustees, presented President Jeffries with the award.

As one of 37 admirable women applauded by EWNJ during the dinner, President Jeffries has shepherded academic and physical growth at GCU since taking the helm in 2001. Her success is demonstrated by a broad range of accomplishments, including the 2008 launch the Georgian Court University-Meridian Health School of Nursing, the expansion of GCU programming at locations in Woodbridge and in Cumberland County, and the creation of GCU’s $26 million, eco-friendly Wellness Center.

EWNJ highlighted President Jeffries and other honorees for their work as members of boards of directors or as senior executives at major corporations and organizations in New Jersey. The dinner, a biennial fundraising event, supports EWNJ’s scholarship program, which has provided over $1 million in scholarships to more than 300 deserving New Jersey women enrolled in advanced degree programs at New Jersey institutions since 1986, as well as other programs that support the advancement of women.
