GCU Chorale to Present Songs from “Wicked” and Mendelssohn at Annual Spring Concert
Lakewood, N.J., May 7, 2010—On Saturday, May 8, the talented Georgian Court University Chorale will present their annual spring concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Casino Auditorium of the Lakewood campus. Sit back and enjoy the sounds of a variety of music including Broadway, classical, and folk.
The GCU Chorale is comprised of singers from the university as well as people from the surrounding townships. Planned selections for the evening include songs from the Broadway play Wicked; “Gloria from the Mass,” by Dvorak; “He Is Watching over Israel” from “Elijah” by Mendelssohn; and many other selections.
Chorale director Karen Mulhall is especially excited about the Spring Concert this year. “The chorale is in excellent form. There are some unique small group performances, and I am especially pleased to be presenting songs from my favorite play, Wicked,” says Ms. Mulhall. “Wicked appeals to all ages, and presents a different view of a well-known tale.”
Tickets are $10 for general admission, $5 for non-GCU students and seniors, and free to GCU students and staff with I.D. Reservations are not required. For further information, contact the GCU Department of Music at 732.987.2624.
