GCU Welcomes Back 1939 Radio Reenactment of “A Christmas Carol”
Professional Performers Bring Dickens’ Classic to Life
Lakewood, N.J., Nov. 18, 2009—Can’t get enough of Scrooge on the stage or in the theater? Catch a reenactment of a 1939 radio presentation of Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol. Travel back in time to a radio studio during the Great Depression and listen as Scrooge and his timeless tale are transmitted into millions of homes across America. The show is presented by St. George Productions, the creators of GCU’s Biographies from The Court series, and performances are offered at 10:00 a.m., Noon, and 2:00 p.m. each day from Friday, December 4, through Sunday, December 6, in the Little Theatre on GCU’s Lakewood campus. Tickets are $10 per person in advance or $15 at the door; reservations are required by calling 732.987.2263 or e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
While you’re on campus, check out Georgian Court University’s Second Annual Victorian Christmas Festival and Gift Boutique from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Friday, December 4, through Sunday, December 6, in the Casino Auditorium. As you shop for unique gifts and crafts from over 30 vendors and artisans at the gift boutique and craft fair, you’ll also enjoy the musical and artistic talents of GCU students, faculty, and staff and local community groups. The festival is free and open to the public; no reservations are required.
