Tour Georgian Court University in the Full Blush of Spring
Lakewood, N.J., Apr. 24, 2009—The weather is warmer, the buds are about to bloom, and Georgian Court University is holding spring tours of its Lakewood campus. There is no finer time to explore this national historic landmark and registered arboretum than in the spring. The pink and airy dogwood trees line your entrance, the cherry blossoms are soon to explode and then cover the ground with a light frosting of pink snow, and antique daffodils adorn the campus. Come and experience one-of-a-kind architecture, lush gardens, and inspiring statuary in person. Guided tours of our historic Mansion, gardens, grounds, Casino, and the Raymond Hall Complex are available.
The university opens its gates to the community on select Tuesday mornings. The tour takes about 1.5 hours and includes approximately 45 minutes of outdoor walking on uneven and partially uphill paths. Please note that the walking tour is not wheelchair accessible. In the event of inclement weather, the outdoor walking tour will be abbreviated, and a video program will be substituted.
Available Spring 2009 tour dates are May 5 and 26 and June 9. They start at the Georgian Court University Mansion at 10:30 a.m. The cost is $10 per person and includes light refreshments after the tour. Reservations are required by calling 732.987.2263 or e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
