Georgian Court University and Naval Air Center/ Station Lakehurst
Will be signing an Education Partnership Agreement under Public Law 101-510 (5 November 1990), Title 10 U.S.C. Section 2194 for the purpose of encouraging and enhancing study in scientific, mathematical, and other disciplines at all levels of education
Signing will take place Monday, April 30, 2007 at 11:00 a.m.
At the Lakewood campus of Georgian Court University in the Casino Ballroom
According to Dr. Joe Molitoris, director of Georgian Court's University College, "This agreement will aid in the educational experience of Georgian Court University students by providing a mechanism by which they can benefit from the staff expertise, unique facilities, and equipment at Navy Lakehurst." The agreement will also aid Navy Lakehurst engineers and other employees in executing their mission by leveraging the educational knowledge and capabilities of Georgian Court University. It may also benefit Navy Lakehurst and GCU by training potential future employees, some who will graduate from GCU. Navy Lakehurst employees and their families may take courses at GCU, Lakewood, or such courses may be offered on demand at Navy Lakehust. Georgian Court University's relevant courses and programs include business, education, science, mathematics, and many other areas.
Mr. John Wendolowski, director for Support Equipment and Aircraft Launch and Recovery Engineering Department at Navy Lakehurst, stated, "as the largest employer in Ocean County and the leading engineering and technical complex in the area, we are thrilled to partner with Georgian Court University, a leading university only ten miles from our doorstep. Offering internships and educational opportunities to our employees and their students is a true win-win situation for both organizations."
