What is the NASA ERC?

NASA established the Educator Resource Center Network in an effort to encourage the teaching of science in the schools and to make quality educational materials available to educators (teachers, librarians, school administrators) and pre-service education majors. In addition, the centers provide professional development training to educators in their serving area.

The Sister Mary Joseph Cunningham Library at Georgian Court University houses the only NASA Educator Resource Center in New Jersey, serving all of New Jersey. Opened in January 1996, the ERC is open by appointment to any educator, regardless of where they live. There is no fee to use the ERC, nor is there any limit to the number of visits anyone may make. Since the ERC hours vary each session, please e-mail nasa@georgian.edu for additional information or to make an appointment. Currently the ERC is open Saturday mornings on the third Saturday of each month (since we live on the third planet in the solar system) during the academic year from 10:30 am to 12:00 noon. [not open June, July or August] E-mail to let us know you are coming and/or to get on our e-mail list!
