Overview
The music program contains four tracks that lead to the B.A. in music. Track I is the basic major in music that prepares you for careers such as private studio music teacher, community music school teacher, professional performer, music sales positions, and positions within the music industry, as well as graduate studies. Track II provides a concentration in music education and leads to Teacher of Music Certification K–12. Track III, the double major in music and education, prepares students for certification to become elementary school teachers, but not certified to teach music. Track IV is a music history concentration for students who love music but do not want to teach music or perform for a living. The music program encourages the development of performance skills for music and non-music majors through the study of applied music and participation in our string orchestra, jazz ensemble, concert band, and choral group. courses.
Details
The study of music is approached as an artistic and intellectual achievement within the framework of a liberal arts curriculum. The program encourages the development of performance skills for music and nonmusic majors through the study of applied music and participation in the ensembles of Georgian Court. The Music Program contains three tracks, all of which lead to the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in music.
| Track 1 |
The basic major in music prepares student for careers including private studio music teacher, community music school teacher, professional performer, music sales positions, positions within the music industry, as well as graduate studies.

| Track 2 |
Provides a concentration in music education and leads to Teacher of Music Certification. The student will study music and music education.

| Track 3 |
Double major in music and in elementary education. The student will prepare to be a certified elementary school teacher (student is not certified to teach music.).

| Track 4 |
Provides a Music History concentration, leading to careers and graduate studies in musicology, history, library science, music business, and music criticism. Less emphasis on performance; the student may become a valued amateur musician in the community. Track 4 may be used as an alternative to Track 3 for elementary (nonmusic) teacher preparation.
