Library Display Case Policy

The Sister Mary Joseph Cunningham Library invites individuals or groups to create educational displays on various topics for the Georgian Court University community. Interested parties are required to review and comply with the policy below and complete a display case request form.  Displays are selected at the discretion of the Library and based on display case availability. 

Display Case Request Requirements

    1. A Library Display Case Request Form must be completed online. The form can be located under the Online Request Forms section of the Library webpage.

    2. The display case may not be used for promotion of a for-profit business nor represent any activity that is in violation of local, state, federal laws.

    3. Displays may not violate discrimination, copyright and public performance laws.

    4. A display is generally scheduled for one calendar month.

    5. Priority will be given to Library sponsored displays.

    6. Using the Library display case is a privilege and is subject to the Library’s discretion. The Library has the right to decline the use of a display case to any group or individuals

    7. The Library may not consider a group or individuals for future displays if the guidelines in this policy are violated.

Display Case Set-Up and Take-Down Requirements

    1. The Library assumes no liability for the preservation, loss of or damage to any part of the display.  All items placed in the Library display are done so at the owner’s risk.

    2. The display case is kept locked at all times except during setup and removal.

    3. The Library has the right to remove any materials that are not inside the case.

    4. Displays must be set up at the beginning of the month and removed at the end of the month to allow appropriate time frames for the next user.

    5. The display case must be restored to its original condition.

    6. If a group or individuals need to cancel a scheduled display they must provide written notification a minimum 7 days before the scheduled display to the staff listed below.

    7. The Library has the right to cancel any scheduled displays by notifying the group or individuals a minimum of 7 days notice.

Display Case Presentation Requirements

    1. Information signs about the display should appear professional and must include creator/group name.

    2. Displays should include Library materials and the Library reserves the right to add Library materials to enhance displays.

    3. A short description and photographs of the display will be posted on the Library’s public Facebook page.
