To promote a safe and productive educational environment and work place for the students, employees, and institutional resources of Georgian Court University, the Office of Human Resources will conduct a background investigation on new and rehired employees. The finalization of an offer of employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory and acceptable report.
Background investigations are performed in the following areas:
- Social Security Trace
- Criminal Record Search
- Education Verification – required for faculty and adjunct positions
- DMV Check – if related to job duties
- Credit Check – if related to job duties
In addition, we perform pre-employment reference checks. Therefore, we request the contact information for three (3) professional references, at least one former supervisor.
Skill assessments are administered for office support positions, including:
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Basic Office Skills (spelling, grammar, and filing)
