Dr. Donovan’s Miracle Medicine Show Comes to Georgian Court
Lakewood, N.J., Oct. 5, 2007—On Friday, October 26, at 6:30 p.m., join Dr. Donovan and his wacky cast of Wild West characters as they present a potpourri of your favorite traditional songs and outrageous comedy sketches straight from Captain Billy’s Wizz Bang. The family-friendly show will be held in the Little Theatre on Georgian Court’s Lakewood campus.
Dr. Donovan’s Miracle Medicine Show re-creates an old-time medicine show, popular in the United States around the turn of the last century. The shows were structured around entertainers who could be expected to draw a crowd who would listen to, and then undoubtedly purchase, the “medicines” offered by the “doctor” who made two or three sales pitches a night. Perhaps after hearing Dr. Donovan’s pitch, you’ll be persuaded to take home a bottle of his Miracle Elixir Juice!
This unique musical comedy revue is presented by St. George Productions, a Medford, New York-based historic production company. Tickets are $5 in advance and $10 at the door. The production is free to GCU community with proper ID, but reservations are required.
