Renowned Irish Tenors to Perform at Georgian Court’s Irish Afternoon
GCU’s Irish Afternoon Moves to the Historic Strand Theater
Lakewood, N.J., Feb. 4, 2008—Georgian Court’s 27th Annual Irish Afternoon moves to the historic Strand Theater in Lakewood, welcoming back the world-renowned Irish Tenors—Finbar Wright, Karl Scully, and Anthony Kearns. The operatic trio, who are well known for their versatility, as well as their beautiful performances of traditional Irish music, will appear at the Strand at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 16. The event is sponsored by the university in partnership with the Strand and Commerce Bank.
Performing together since 1998, The Irish Tenors have breathed new life into traditional treasures and recorded seven best-selling albums. Their repertoire extends from well-known favorites like “My Wild Irish Rose” and “Danny Boy,” to more contemporary selections, such as “My Heart Will Go On,” made famous by Celine Dion. The afternoon promises to be a memorable combination of operatic skill, Irish heritage, and delightful and unexpected musical selections.
Tickets are $75 for orchestra seats, $50 for mezzanine and loge, and $35 for tier. (A $4.00 service charge will be added to the cost of each ticket.) Tickets must be purchased in advance.
Tickets may be purchased at www.strand.org or by calling 732.367.7789, Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All major credit cards are accepted, and all sales are final.
