Web & Electronic Communications
The Office of Web and Electronic Communications is responsible for the Georgian Court University Web site, for working on web projects on a university wide scale, for providing technical expertise on web related issues to committees, and for acting as technical liaison, when requested, between GCU offices and specialized web service providers. Also, it is the role of the Director to enable key offices and departments to become self-sufficient by offering training in the use of the web content management system and related web skills.
The Georgian Court University Web site, initiated in February of 1996, serves as an important source of information about university programs, activities, and culture and is a major recruitment tool at the undergraduate and graduate level. It has gone through redesigns in 1998, 2001, and 2003, with a major redesign in 2004 when Georgian Court achieved university status, another in 2008 to celebrate the Georgian Court Centennial and the most recent award winning design was created in 2009.
The GCU Web site is a strategic marketing and image tool, a significant resource for prospective students, and a mechanism for maintaining ties with alumni and community donors. In addition, the GCU Web site reflects the university’s culture and Mercy core values.
