Danashia DuBose, Communication Major

My experience as a Communication major with a concentration in Convergent Journalism is one that I will never forget. I have learned so many things in each course, and I will carry this knowledge with me for the rest of my life. Through a selection of inclusive courses, I have learned every aspect of the Communication field. Since the Communication program is part of a multidisciplinary department, I was fortunate to have been able to take many different courses outside of my concentration. This is a great advantage that we have to acquire new skills, solidify our portfolio, and build a more attractive resume for the workplace.

I will always be grateful for all the opportunities the Communication department provided me. I have formed lasting bonds with other students and the professors of the department. I’ve also had the chance to be part of the Lion’s Tale club, which is the student newspaper on campus. I joined the club in the course of my Advance News Writing and Reporting class. This turned out to be such a great hands-on news reporting experience! I believe that becoming a Communication major at Georgian Court University was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life. Now I feel confident in my skills and well prepared for the job market.
Nicole Way, Graphic Design & Multimedia Major

Upon entering GCU, I knew I wanted to become a Graphic Designer, but I wasn't completely sure about my abilities in the field. I had taken a few courses in high school and had fallen in love with it. Now a sophomore, I can undoubtedly say I know that I belong in this major. Georgian Court has not only provided me with great professors with a plethora of knowledge in the field, but has provided numerous courses in several subdivisions of Graphic Design and Multimedia. Within this major, I can get a feel for several areas of design such as product design, textile, poster design, web design and more!

Within two years, I have already discovered my own personal style in my works and have obtained excellent skills that I will be using on a daily basis. I love being a graphic designer and I am confident that GCU will give me the tools I need to succeed!
Dina Marciani, Graphic Design Major

I graduated from Georgian Court University in 2005 with a BFA in Graphic Design. With the experience I earned from the Graphic Design program while still a student, I interned for a photography company where I was later hired as their in-house graphic designer. I then moved on to work as designer for a domestic supply company. In 2008, I was hired as graphic designer for Viva International Group, a global leader in the eyewear industry. In 2011, I became Studio Manager for the same company, where I lead a team of graphic designers and a workload of over 1500 jobs per year.
Jursy Wallace, Communication Major

Being a Communications student at Georgian Court has been a great experience for many reasons. Besides learning how to become a better writer, it has also helped me to communicate thoughts and ideas proficiently. I use these skills not only in my major but for all of my classes as well.

As a communications major, we study many different subjects such as public relations, writing for the web and journalism. We also explore different types of media such as newspapers and television, which is a lot of fun! This is a great department that gives me the skills I need to become successful and skills that I use on a daily basis. I love being a Communications major at Georgian Court!

I graduated from Georgian Court University in 2005 with a BFA in Graphic Design and Illustration. Georgian Court's Graphic Design Program helped pave the way to my current success. The program challenged me to think outside the box and inspired me beyond my expectations. It was very rewarding to go to class with Professors who were knowledgeable and passionate about their work. I will forever be grateful for the individual attention given by all the Professors in the program.

Today, I hold a position as Senior Graphic Designer at the Sawtooth Group, an Advertising Agency in Red Bank, NJ. Through the knowledge and skills I gained at the Graphic Design program at GCU, and with over six years of industry experience, I have developed a keen eye for creating aesthetically pleasing work while meeting my clients’ expectations and staying within brand standards. My passion lies in my love for clean design, color and nature. Thanks to the Graphic Design program at GCU, I am living the life I always dreamed of.

Shinade Ramirez, Communication Major

I am a senior majoring in communications with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Spanish. When I was asked to reflect on my four years in the communications department, I was overjoyed to express my feelings. The communications department is such a positive, uplifting, and united department. My professors and classmates have a big impact on how great my experience was. I know each of my professors personally and that allowed me to open up and challenge myself. I entered Georgian Court University as a shy freshman and I am leaving as an outspoken senior. I have the communication department to thank for that.
George Marousis, Graphic Design & Multimedia Major

Georgian Court University is a great place to study graphic design and multimedia. GCU features small class sizes and has a warm and inviting campus. The professors are all very knowledgeable in their fields and are always willing to help students with any conceptual or technical questions they might have. In our two computer labs, we work with current Mac and PC computers running the latest industry standard programs from Adobe and Autodesk. Plus, after graduation, we will be prepared for the real world with plenty of work for our portfolio. I highly recommend the Graphic Design & Multimedia program of Georgian Court University to anyone wishing to acquire great technical skills and advanced knowledge in these fields.
