Please adhere to the rules for the Fitness Center:

1.   Return your weights when you are finished with them

This is a simple matter of courtesy to whoever is using the equipment after you. Place dumbbells back on the rack in the slots where they belong and always remove your weights from the machines.

2. Do not drop weights

Dropping weights on the floor can cause injury to yourself or others and can also damage the equipment & floor. Always set it down as gently as you can.

3.   Keep your iPod or MP3 volume at a reasonable level during your workout

Please keep the volume down. In addition, refrain from singing along. Most people would rather not listen to your rendition of the song playing.

4.   Let others work-in with you

Be considerate and don’t stay on machines extended periods of time if there are people waiting for machines.

5. Have a spotter

If you are using a bench press, incline press or squat rack, have someone there to assist you with the weight (NOT the gym attendant).

6.   Wipe your gym machines off after use

Especially if you sweat a lot, this rule is essential.  It's even better to put down a towel before you use the bench. Use the wipes that are provided at the desk to wipe the machines. If they are not available, please ask the fitness center attendant.

7. No Profanity

Profanity is offensive to others and not consistent with the Mercy Core Values. If you have to scream in the middle of a tough set, make it unintelligible.

8. No Cell Phones-

If you have to use your phone, step out the fitness center.  This is a matter of safely using fitness center equipment.

9.   Wear appropriate clothes for the gym

Wear clean clothes while working out. You must wear appropriate attire, no spaghetti straps or short shorts.  Dry, closed-top athletic shoes are required. No dress shoes, boots or sandals are permitted.

10. No Personal Belongings on the floor-

All gym bags, personal belongings, etc. must be in a cubby behind the desk or in the locker rooms.
