The Campaign for Georgian Court: Annual Giving and Alumni Participation Initiative

 [Back]

What is Annual Giving?

This is an opportunity for all friends and alumni of Georgian Court to make a difference and have a positive impact on the lives of thousands of students. This initiative's goals are to increase the alumni-giving percentage rate of 20 to 30 percent, and double annual giving for operations over the next five years. Annual Giving provides much needed support for scholarships, academic programs, cocurricular activities, library acquisitions, technology, new initiatives, and buildings and grounds maintenance.

To give a gift, please Contact Us or Give Your Annual Gift Online Now.

  • All gifts–regardless of the amount–are appreciated and truly make a difference in the lives of thousands of students.
  • Corporations and foundations pay attention to our percentage of alumni contributors to determine whether they will support Georgian Court. The percentage is also one of the ways in which we are compared to other colleges and universities.

How Will My Gift Be Used?

Georgian Court Unrestricted Fund

While all gifts offer important support for the university's mission, unrestricted donations are especially welcomed and appreciated. These gifts are applied where the need is greatest. Any gift to the university that is not specifically designated to one of the areas below is considered unrestricted.

School of Arts and Humanities

School of Business

School of Education

School of Sciences and Mathematics

Scholarship Programs

Directly impacting the lives of Georgian Court students, these are gifts of money or other aid to help students pay for their education, or to recognize a student's achievement in a particular area.

Sister Mary Joseph Cunningham Library

The breadth of a university's library collection is a strong indicator of the strength of the university. The Sister Mary Joseph Cunningham Library houses more than 144,000 print and non-print items.

  • Your gift to the library is used to purchase books, magazine subscriptions, videos, electronic databases, or furnishings and shelving.
  • For a gift of $250, you can pay tribute to someone special by purchasing a leaf for the bronze tree in the library.
  • You can also donate to Special Collections. Since Georgian Court celebrates its centennial in 2008, items showcasing our history are needed:

* Identified and dated photographs
* Memorabilia
* Personal papers related to Georgian Court

Lions Athletics

Our student-athletes are true reflections of the spirit and mission of Georgian Court. They excel on the playing field, maintain high grade point averages, and participate in many campus activities. The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee participates in many charitable activities in our local community. Your gift for Athletics supports:

  • New team development–intercollegiate and intramural
  • Scholarships and travel
  • Workshops on issues such as women's leadership and health and fitness
  • Upgraded facilities, equipment, and uniforms

Preservation of Historic Campus Grounds and Gardens

Regular maintenance and renewal of the university's buildings, walkways, lush gardens, and parking areas enhances the student learning environment and preserves our historical landmark status. The former estate of George J. Gould, Georgian Court was officially dedicated as a National Historic Landmark on November 17, 1985.
