Traditional Freshman Application Requirements

A traditional freshman is a student applying for admission within three years of high school graduation and has no full-time previous college experience.  Those who have graduated high school 3+ years ago, please see Admission of Adult Students.

  • Submit completed Application (online or paper)
  • Submit $40 Application Fee /Waiver
  • Submit Official High School Transcripts including a schedule of 12th grade classes.
  • Submit 2 Letters of Recommendation
  • Option submit SAT or ACT Scores
  • Option submit Application Essay
  • Option submit a Résumé of Activities or Brag Sheet

Freshman applicants are required to have completed at least 16 Academic Units by high school graduation including:

  • 4 English/ Language Arts
  • 1 Lab Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
  • 2 Foreign Language (in the same language)
  • 2 Mathematics (Algebra 1 and higher)
  • 1 History/ Social Studies
  • 6 Electives in the subjects above

Advanced Placement and Credit

A student who has taken one or more Advanced Placement courses in secondary school may be eligible for Advanced Placement college credit. A score of 3 or higher in the Advanced Placement Tests of the College Entrance Examination Board is required to receive college credit. The amount of credit (3,4,6 or 8 credits) will be determined by the type of Advanced Placement Test(s) taken by the student. Georgian Court accepts a total of 30 Advanced Placement credits towards a degree. An offical score report is required to award credit.
