Commuter Life

commuters_cafeMy name is Caitlin, president of the Commuter Club and Chair of Commuters for the Student Government Association.

Commuters are known for coming to class and then going home.  As a commuter for four years, I admit that after taking three or more classes in a day, all I wanted to do was go home.  But, I reminded myself that I would be missing out on the fun. There are so many organizatons on campus that do amazing things!  There are clubs for just about any interest, and if there is not a club for what you are interested in, you can form one.

As I mentioned, I am president of the Commuter Club, which hosts many activities that are designed to get you more involved by being convenient for commuters to attend.  This past year, we had pictures with Santa and an Easter Craft Day; both held in the early afternoon between classes. I, along with the other members of the Commuter Club, plan to host more events this upcoming semester and want to remind you that we are here to help you with issues or concerns.  The club has a Blackboard account, to which you can easily subscribe, that provides meeting dates and times.  You will also be notified of upcoming events through e-mail.  Our meetings are usually once a month and rotate between Tuesdays and Thursdays around 3:00 PM.  We would love for you to join!

GCU is an amazing place with opportunities abounding for its students.  Make sure that you get involved and make the most out of your college career.  The next four years will go by much faster than you think!

If you have any questions, concerns, or would like more information, feel free to contact me via the Blackboard account or just look for me on campus!
